Challenge

The client is one of the leading providers of end-to-end enterprise application systems. Its Global Control Centre (GCC) is a facility where specialists, scientists, consultants, and technical experts come together to offer real time solutions for preventing security breaches (physical or data). As a Security Operations Centre (SOC), the GCC monitors the entire infrastructure — including networks, servers, computers, data and applications — at their facilities across the globe.

The client’s team wanted Actis to create a centralised facility for their security specialists to monitor and address potential security issues collaboratively and in real-time.

Solution

The client’s team wanted their Global Control Centre to be equipped with the latest audio visual technology to make real-time data more visible and accessible to their team.
The centerpiece of the GCC is a large 4×2 modular video wall, which uses 55″ displays with ultra-thin bezels to display information from 8 computers rack-mounted within the room. These systems provide real-time data including CCTV camera footage from their locations worldwide. Video conferencing is possible via Skype for Business or a desktop PC-based S-VRS video phone platform, which uses the in-room Logitech PTZ camera. Audio content is audible in the room through a JBL speaker system with in-wall speakers, while the audio is captured by a Shure Ceiling Array Microphone. A Biamp TesiraFORTÉ digital signal processor (DSP) enhances the sound to ensure clarity at the far side during video conferencing sessions.

Control over room elements is possible via a Kramer control system, which includes the SL-240C control processor, an iPad with a control interface and a backup 8-button control panel. A Lutron lighting system ensures that the room lighting can be adjusted conveniently as and when required. 6-seater detached huddle room: The GCC also has a detached meeting space for client meetings or when private discussions need to take place. This room seats upto 6 participants and enables the content to be displayed from the GCC on the in-room 65” flat-screen display. Data from the main GCC display can also be privately shared with stakeholders in this room, which is also used for conducting closed meetings on critical operations.

The Final Impression

After the provision of desired audio-visual solutions for the GCC, the client’s team gets real-time information from systems across their global centres, including live footage from different locations. The state-of-the-art video wall display allows great flexibility in viewing critical information, which allows the team to monitor security data closely and identify potential problems at an early stage. Once this is done, they are able to collaborate more effectively to prevent or speedily resolve potential issues.
