Challenge

The company is a diversified global reinsurer that offers insurance along with other types of insurance-based risk transfer. The multimedia team of the enterprise required assistance in empowering employees with state-of-the-art infrastructure at their office in Bangalore.

The project included the construction and installation of several meeting rooms, conference rooms, training rooms, huddle rooms, boardrooms, a collaboration area and a multi-storey interactive cafeteria. The organization wanted to create a flexible, multi-purpose infrastructure that would allow for easier sharing, easier connectivity, and greater clarity in video and audio.

Also, Actis was tasked with updating and equipping training spaces to make them incredibly versatile. These rooms needed to accommodate various types of training programs that would involve different group sizes. Another important place of collaboration was a large digital cafeteria-cum-town hall space. The company needed this room to host seamless two-way broadcasts from around the globe involving multiple office locations and participants.

Solution

Actis created a flexible training and multi-purpose room for various learning initiatives. The area consists of space for 50-60 people and can be separated into 3 smaller rooms (15-seater). A medium-sized training room was also created for accommodating up to 25 participants. To eliminate cable clutter, these rooms were provided with wireless presenting solutions, including 98” LED Backlit UHD Display as the primary display.

Other than this, the meeting infrastructure at the company premises was constructed with several huddle and discussion rooms. These rooms enable small groups to effectively collaborate with basic meeting tools.

Digital cafeteria remained the largest and most complex AV-integrated room during the project. The 500-800 seater room features a set-up for two-way audio and video conferencing and is well-equipped to handle Town Hall meetings. Besides, Actis worked on creating 20-25 seater larger VC and collaboration rooms for the company. These spaces feature a wide range of collaboration and AV technologies as well as room control integration with a touch-panel control system.

The Final Impression

Actis has successfully created the collaboration infrastructure that meets the objectives outlined by the Swiss Re multimedia team. We have constructed a very flexible set of solutions that adapt to their dynamic needs and ensure its long-term benefits. The move from analog to digital signal management infrastructure has enabled easy sharing, simpler connectivity and better audio/video clarity to Swiss Re collaboration rooms.

Multipurpose rooms with highly flexible communication spaces are a key feature of this infrastructure. Accommodating groups of varying sizes was an important consideration while building this infrastructure, and this has been achieved across multiple applications like training, town hall, meeting, collaboration and video conferencing.
