1971 - 2025

Over 50 Years of Pioneering AV Experiences...

Founded in 1971, Actis has been pioneering progress and innovation in India’s audio visual industry for the last five decades. While celebrating our 50th anniversary (in 2021) we take a fond look back at the many miles travelled on our way here…

1971

Founded in Mumbai in 1971 as General Engineering and Spares, a general-purpose engineering workshop producing parts for compressors, fans and diesel engines

1975

Developed the 35mm cement splicer, tape splicer, synchronizer and other film editing equipment that were exported to major film producing countries

1982-86

Developed and manufactured six models of Overhead Projectors for Meeting, Education and Training applications and evolved into the market leader for OHPs in India

1984

Set up a Pan-India network of OHP and AV dealers and resellers to bring customers easier access to our products

1986

Pioneered digital presentation technology in India with the launch of our first Monochrome LCD Panel

1995

Amongst the first to introduce Multimedia Projectors in India, this accelerated the growth of the domestic AV industry

1999

Started our AV integration practice with landmark projects at Akshardham Temple, Mahindra & Mahindra and Global Telesystems

2000

Re-branded the organisation as Actis Technologies, the name by which it is known today

2003

Built the first multi-solution AV EXPERIENCE CENTRE in India to demonstrate integrated meeting solutions

2008

Started our first International Branch Office in the UAE

2016

  • Launched Ooberpad, India’s first Smart AV e-commerce store. Pioneered an online consultative service for consumers
  • Our founder, MANMOHAN GUPTA received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Systems Integration India Awards (SIIA). 

2018

Stepped up our CSR contributions by providing a Cardiac Ambulance and other Life Saving machines to Bhaktivedanta Hospital at Thane 

2018-19

Team Actis was awarded the SIIA Best Corporate AV Application awards for our work in the 10 crores and above category (2018), and 1 crore and above category (2019)

2019

Manmohan Gupta was the recipient of the 2019 AVIXA Distinguished Achievement Award for his achievements and contributions to the AV industry in India

2000-2020

TWO DECADES OF FIRSTS, including the:

  • Executive Briefing Centre for Tata Consultancy Services
  • Distance Learning Centre for Indian Institute of Management Banglore
  • Design and build of the Management Council Hall at Infosys.
  • India’s largest Lighting Management System for the Jio World Convention centre
  • Lighting Management System for one of India’s largest private residences and many more…

2021

Actis has received 45+ awards over the last 2 decades from partners, customers and the industry, in recognition of our teams achievements

2024

Added to our operations in the UAE via our Dubai subsidiary, which now include custom solutions, distribution and logistics

2025

Actis awarded special recognition from RIL for 110M safe man-hours at Jio World Centre
