Capture and broadcast learning room sessions in LIVE HD

Recording and distributing classroom content (including LIVE streaming) is increasingly popular for both the education and corporate training applications. The potential of some of these features is already being realised by several leading learning institutions in India — including IIT, IIM and Lintas.

While we’ve talked about products that help implement this in your VC-enabled spaces in the past, a solution from Crestron recently caught our attention.

The Crestron CaptureLiveHD Meeting & Lecture Capture System records and distributes lecture content from the classroom, training lab, or boardroom so audiences can access it 24×7. CaptureLiveHD™ is easy to use and allows remote viewers to view lectures in high-definition wherever and whenever they choose. Presenters can also view and hear exactly what is being recorded/broadcast via a “confidence monitor”.

Key features of this system are:

Presenters can activate the system with a push of a single “Record” button

Records full-motion video from the instructor camera, content and mic audio, and presentation content from other AV sources such as a computer or Blu-ray player

The broadcasted feed can have several views for emphasis — switching between full screen, picture-in-picture, picture-by-picture and side-by-side layouts

Streams video content to popular open source media sites for anytime-anywhere viewing

No recurring licensing, programming and maintenance charges

For more information about the system, have a look at this video from Crestron.
